Melissa’s Updates

After a pretty slow Summer…hopefully I am back in the swing of things here on the blog. We are still short staffed and super busy at work but I need to make time for the things I love and this website is one of them. I always feel more invigorated when the weather starts turning cool…Autumn is my favorite season.

I haven’t heard of any new shows that I want to check out either! That’s probably for the best.! LOL I think I finally have my NetGalley under control. I refuse to let myself get below 90%.

  1. Lovely stack of books! I see several familiar books, like the Megan Miranda novels, which I loved. Also loved It Ends with Us.

I got The Summer That Made Us, and can’t wait to read it. I have Stillhouse Lake resting on Pippa, my Kindle…and I hope to get to it soon.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  2. I love the autumn season too. I need to get back to Gilmore Girls. My husband and I started watching the show a couple years ago together and we hadn’t even made it half way in the first season before we stopped watching. It wasn’t that we weren’t enjoying it. Just that other things got in the way. As it is, we rarely sit down at the same time to watch anything on TV these days.

You’ve got some great books there! Stillhouse Lake is on my radar as is A Beautiful Poison. I hope you have a great week, Melissa!

  3. Your book photos are so pretty! What app or program do you use to edit them and add the frame and so on?

I’m looking forward to fall weather too. It was nice here this week — in the 70s instead of 80s as I would expect in early September. But I prefer 60s and 70s (and even 50s!)

  4. I like autumn too, probably my favorite season. All the fall stuff is fun. And I recently discovered Megan Miranda, I have one of her older books on my TBR but I’m thinking of getting All the Missing Girls too. That one seems to get good reviews.

How did you like Six Wakes? I thought it was pretty good.

I want to read Stillhouse Lake too.

  5. Kathy Martin

I enjoyed Stillhouse Lake. I hope you get a chance to read it. I’ll miss summer since we didn’t really have on this year. It seems like we have had autumn weather for weeks already. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  6. Enjoy all your books. As far as fall television goes, I’ll be watching Survivor and The Librarians Season 4 should start sometime soon, I hope.

  7. I feel the same exact way about work it just got completely out of control this summer we were down a person and everything just slipped. I am hoping to get back in the swing of blogging soon. I really enjoyed Gilmore Girls I am glad you are enjoying it! I just got The Rules of Magic I can’t wait to read that one! Happy Reading!

  8. I love fall too. 🙂 I am excited to see that you gave the Simplicity of Cider five stars – that is on my list! And I can’t wait to read The Rules of Magic. I loved Practical Magic, and Alice Hoffman is definitely a favorite of mine.

I really enjoyed A Beautiful Poison. 🙂 And Gilmore Girls!!

    Have a great week!

  9. I see a lot of new to me books that I want to check out. I never watched The Gilmore Girls even though everyone raved about it. My daughter in law finally convinced me last night to start watching it, so I watched the first episode last night and added it to my list on Netflix.
