Notes from Melissa
Well December is here and just as we are putting the mayhem (and joy) of Thanksgiving behind us, it is time to gear up for the coming Holiday Season. As you read this, I am probably packing up my Fall decor and bringing out the Christmas decorations. Hopefully I will get it all done this weekend!
I am also trying my best to be on top of my shopping. This month is crazy with 5 birthdays and Christmas…but I am about 1/2 way done. I want to be 100% done my the 10th and then just wrapping. We’ll see!
Hope that all of you in the States had a wonderful Thanksgiving and here’s to hoping for a wonder end to 2016.

What I’m Watching
🎥 A December Bride & Finding Father Christmas – I’ve been binge watching Hallmark Holiday movies. They are obviously all very cheesy…come on you know what you are getting into with these. Both of these seemed better and more enjoyable that most of their movies. I plan to DVR more of these like crazy this month and already have Broadcasting Christmas waiting on the DVR for me to watch next.
📺 Gilmore Girls – Due to all the hype surrounding the Gilmore Girls Mini Series (Revival) just released, I finally decided to give this series a go on Netflix. I’ve watched Season 1: Ep 1-6 so far and though I’m not totally in love, I can see the potential. We’ll see how it goes. Maybe by next Dec. I will be caught up and able to watch the revival! LOL
📺 The Ghost Whisperer – Or rather the “Ghost Summarizer” as my husband and I call it! We are still using this as filler when we don’t have any new programming on the DVR. It is entertaining and I love the small town feel of it. It actually reminds me a lot of a cozy mystery.
📺 That 70’s Show – We started this in the summer and are now in the middle of the last season. I understand that some actors left the show to pursue other interests and appreciate the fact that they had a season to wrap everything up for us, but I really can’t say that I am enjoying this season. It just doesn’t feel right and some of the story lines are just too much 🙁

Is this the year of DNFs or what?!?!? I don’t normally see you DNF’ing, though! Hmmmm….
And I actually never saw the first season of Gilmour Girls BUT saw all the middle seasons and loved them. I think you might end up liking the other seasons. I personally loved Sookie 🙂
Have fun Christmas decorating!!! I’m doing that today, too!!

I’m still wrapping my mind around the idea that it’s December. I’ve got some holiday tasks done, but decorating isn’t one of them.
I’ve been catching a few Hallmark movies, too. I saw Broadcasting Christmas and A Mistletoe Promise. They were pretty good.
Eventually I want to get to the Kim Harrison series. Enjoy your latest books.

If you’re done by the 10th I would be jealous lol- I’ve bought ONE present! But I have time, right??? Famous last words. It is nice to be in the Christmas season though. Thanksgiving can be kinda crazy. 🙂
I haven’t been watching much this week other than a few shows on Netflix.
The Operator looks good.

I keep thinking I might watch Gilmore Girls while I am stitching, but I never get around to it. I honestly never really watch anything with the kids. I used to love Ghost Whisperer but I wasnt’ a fan of what they did in last season.

Good luck with the shopping. I need to get on that myself! We have decorated, and I ill focus on out of town family first, then our family here. I try to do most online as I loathe malls. Then the hubby and I make one day of it followed by dinner out. I loved Ghost Whisper. Have a great week and enjoy your new books

We also have five birthdays within a month of each other. Planning to celebrate them all a week or so before Christmas so they don’t get blended into the holiday spirit. Got my online shopping done. Now its about getting out there and impulse buying at the shops. LOL

Hope you like The Operator. I read the novella that opened that series and wasn’t sold so I never continued. I’m interested to see if people like this one because I haven’t totally written off reading in. In fact, I bought the first one for my Kindle a few weeks ago when it was on sale for $1.99. This time of year is crazy for me so I understand where you’re coming from. Although not quite a bad, between Nov. 22nd and January 18 we have three birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and our anniversary. Makes money a tad tighter – haha!

Gilmore Girls grew on me, as I binge-watched it on Netflix…and by the end of the first season, I was hooked. So, of course, I loved the revival…except for the ending…Sigh.
Mistletoe Cottage looks like fun! Enjoy your books!

Good luck with your December goals! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
That’s a lot of birthdays in any month, but in December, wow! I’m looking for Christmas books – I might try Mistletoe Cottage. Girl Who Reads.
I haven’t watch “The Gilmore Girls” either, although some friends who are hard-core fans told me that the first season is bumpy and it gets better after that.
Oh I need the Operator! I loved that first book. Oh and now I’ll be the only one who hasn’t watched the Gilmore Girls! I guess I better get on it, but the fact that you aren’t thrilled doesn’t bode well for me liking it as much as others have as well.
Yep, you reminded me I need to get on the wreath my mother “ordered” from me. LOL Onto holiday decorating! 🙂
