 Notes from Melissa

It’s October!! Bring on the best 3 months of the year.

october

For some reason, I always feel super invigorated this time of year (I think part of it is that my allergies and sinuses let up a bit so I’m not always either in pain or in a fog) Plus Halloween, Thanksgiving And Christmas!! Need I say more? I even posted a few reviews for some great Christmas Reads…see below.

I really took it easy with the blog over the Summer but plan to really get back into it this Autumn. Hopefully Anna’s Blog Ahead will help me get a bit of a cushion back. It’s a great event and if you are interested…you should definitely check it out. Link below.

As you can see, I’ve been reading a lot…I just need to actually write of my reviews. At least for the review books – I generally don’t review the 2/3 of the books I read that are pleasure books…but am thinking that I really should even if it’s only a compilation monthly of  one line reviews.

DO YOU GUYS REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ??

 What I’m Watching

📺 Ghost Whisperer– I watched this show years ago when it originally aired and just remember loving the setting (small town upstate New York,Antique shop & Renovated Victorian home) and even moreso Jennifer Love Hewitt’s clothes…I was obsessed and maybe I still am. LOL Hubby and I happened to be channel surfing and saw a bit of an episode on the telly and now we’re watching the series on Netflix. I’ve been on a cozy mystery reading kick lately and I think this show is feeding into that for me!

  1. Seriously “invigorated” is the perfect word for this time of year. You just said everything I love about the last 3 months of the year. This is my favorite time! I get so excited and feel so motivated this time of year. Plus the sinuses do let up and that makes me very happy.

Have a great week, Melissa! Happy Reading!

  2. I don’t review everything I read, I do review most but sometimes I just take a break and skip one! And I agree about the next 3 months- love this time of year! the holidays and the changing seasons… it’s all great.

I like scary or mysterious type reads this time of year too. Hopefully I can get to some good ones or even a cozy or two. Sentenced to Death looks fun.

  3. Kathy Martin

I do try to review everything I read. I have two blogs and want to post 2 reviews each week on each of them. I like this time of year too, second only to summer. I stop liking it when the snow starts to fall. I really, really don’t like snow and cold. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  4. This is my favorite time of year too, and I agree – the best three months of the year. 🙂

I don’t review everything, because like you, a lot of reading is just for me. I will sometimes get a bug and then do a compilation type review thing, little shortie reviews. I’m getting ready to do that actually, since I am a little behind. 🙂

Ghost Whisperer sounds good – I never watched it but I am thinking I will try it!

  5. I love this time of year as well! I think it is the weather with no allergies! It looks like you got some great new books to read! I do review every book that I read now I used to only review the ones that I really enjoyed or wanted to get other people’s opinions on! Happy Reading!

  6. I love October, too. Well, fall in general, until it gets cold and rainy. Cool, crisp autumn days with deep blue skies and brilliant fall colors — heavenly!

You’ve read some interesting books over the last few weeks — looks like you’re on a Booktown Mystery binge. One of these days I want to read that series. Enjoy your new acquisitions, and have a wonderful week!

  7. I also like October, as it’s the start of autumn weather usually. the cooler weather and the changing leaves are nice. That picture of the autumn forest is pretty! I am also participating in Blog Ahead, it’s always a fun challenge.

I do review all my books as I enjoy reviewing them. I like your idea of doing one line reviews when you don’t feel like writing a whole review. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
